The other week, we had a fabulous tea party for Sissy and a few of her close friends at the shop and used our new clip on chairs for dolls. So afterwards, I had the task of trying to figure out where to store the ones for the shop, and I came up with this idea and had to take a picture. Yes, I was playing with toys again, and I do realize I am a big kid.
Because Stuffed Animals need to have tea too!
Step Two: Pick Out a fun Outfit!
Ok, so my daughter has a new obsession: Zoobles! She has started saving her allowance to buy them, and when she recently gave up sucking her fingers, she asked for Zoobles for a reward. Up until a few weeks ago, I had no idea what they were, but now I am knee deep in them at my house. I won’t be getting them in my store, but I thought I would share the little bit of knowledge I have on them in case your little girl joins the obsession.
Zoobles are kinda like Littlest Pet Shop in size and collectibility. Unlike Littlest Pet Shop, These little creatures roll into a ball and spring to life when you put them on top of their “Happitat.” The bottoms of them have a magnetic piece which is how they curl up in a ball. So in that way, they are like Bakugan. My daughter has fun hanging them upside down from various magnetic surfaces in our house making them look eerily like bats. Ok, my daughter is strange. (She takes after her father you know.) Anyways…
I kinda see these things lasting and not just becoming a fad because of their similarity to Littlest Pet Shop. I admit, I think they are a little strange, but my daughter absolutely loves them.

Kids and stuffed animals, you usually think girls, right? Not so at Bear Haven Boutique! While I know many of our products favor girls, our Bear Haven Buddy stuffable plush are great for boys and girls. I have many moms tell me that the stuffed animal they made from Bear Haven Boutique is their son’s favorite. And why not? It’s a fun concept and inspires imaginative play!
Bear Haven Buddies differ from many other stuff a plush companies. One of the big differences is that we stuff by hand whether it be in-store or at a party or other event. For many children this is a special experience because they really get to make their new stuffed animal friend. It is a more involved process. We also have a fluffing ceremony where each child gets to go crazy in making sure their new friend is just right in the squishability department. We name them, and they also say the Bear Haven Oath to declare they will take care of their new friend. We have many stuffed animals that appeal to boys. Some fan favorites are the dinosaur, the lion, and the cow. Everyone loves the cow it seems!
In addition to the hands on experience, we have a large selection of outfits that are picked with boys in mind. Lately the astronaut has been quite popular, but we have many other outfits to choose. My son has a whole collection of outfits that he puts on his animals and Cabbage Patch Kid. I love it because he uses his imagination and dresses them up for whatever imaginative adventure he is playing with them.
I think it is important for all kids to use their imagination, and Bear Haven Buddies are great for such play. So if you ever wondered about trying a Bear Haven Buddy activity with your son either at our store or at home with one of our kits, go for it. You both will have fun creating the Buddy, and your son will have fun playing with for years to come.
