The opportunity to review the children’s picture book titled Nothing by Natalee Creech and published by WorthyKids, an imprint of Hachette Book Group couldn’t have come at a better time! Miss Crankles asks a lot of questions about God lately. This book illustrates beautifully the extent of God’s love in a way that younger children can understand.

About the Book

The full title of this book is Nothing: Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love, and it is written by Natalee Creech and illustrated by Joseph Cowman. It draws its inspiration from Romans 8 where it talks about how nothing can separate us from God’s love. This beautifully illustrated book discusses how God loves you no matter where you go and that his love never ends. If you have a preschooler or younger child that constantly asks about God, like my youngest does, this book provides a great way to discuss how God’s love never ends.

What I love about this Book

Miss Crankles and I read together every day. Some days, we read just at night time. However, I often read her books throughout the day. I love to read books that hold meaning, and she loves books containing lots of illustrations. One of the things that drew me to this book was that it contained both!

Lately, Miss Crankles asks a lot of questions about God, and I want to find ways to explain things to her in a way she can understand. Topics covered in this book include how God loves you no matter where you are, what you do, and that his love is without end. The explanations are simple and beautifully illustrated, and the rhyming is great for easy reading.

What my child loves about this Book

While Miss Crankles knows some sight words, she doesn’t read yet. However, she is drawn to books with lots of pictures. She loves the illustrations in the book, as they are bright and colorful. She also loves books that rhyme, so this book held her attention quite well. It also answered some of her questions she has about God lately, so that helps as well.

Overall Thoughts

If you want to add more books to your child’s library about Christianity and questions kids have about God, I recommend this book. Because this book reads easily and shows beautiful illustrations, we enjoyed this book, and I know that it will be one that we read and re-read for the next few years. 1. Such a beautiful book with a wonderful message! The illustrations are fantastic. I miss my boys being little and inquisitive like this. Thanks for sharing – I think it’d be a book our local library would love!

  2. This sounds like a great little book for children. I read books with my nephew every time he stays with us and he loves this time!
