Project Healthy, Fit and Fabulicious!

Ok, if you know me or have been following my blog for a while, you would know that I had a bit of a road block with my weight-loss journey a few months ago. I am fine now, but I slowed down for a while and kinda got in a rut. So I was thinking and decided to start the kit over that got me started with my weight-loss in the first place last summer. Basically the kit is a great way to kick-start weight-loss. It comes with supplements, a meal planner with some really yummy recipes and Nutrilite Meal and Snack Bars. It is a bit pricey, but to me it has been well worth the investment. Read on and I will tell you why.
When I started last summer, I ordered the kit. Yes there are supplements in the kit which are the Slimmetry, Carb Blocker, Invisifiber, and the Gluecose Health. I was a bit skeptical because I have taken “supplements” before where you lose weight as long as you take them, but as soon as you stop, you gain the weight back. With these, this is not the case. They do speed up the process a bit, but if you decide after taking them for the first month that you don’t want to re-order them, you will still lose weight if you are living a healthy lifestyle. The Invisifiber is great because it is the only fiber product I have found that you can put in your water (or mix in your oatmeal) and not taste it. I get grossed out occasionally by things like that. I know, I am weird. It’s okay. I am used to it. Anyways…
So there are the supplements. Then there is the meal planner/food journal/ recipe guide. I love this book! So many people do not know their portion sizes. This book plans your meals and gives you a weekly grocery list. Your daily meal plan makes sure you get all your nutrients unlike many diets out there. Basically, it is setting you up so that you are not going on a diet, you are making a healthy lifestyle change complete with an arsenal of information about portion sizes and a guide to make sure you are eating a proper diet.
Finally are the meal bars and snack bars. They send you a few variety packs. The meal bars are great as part of the meal plan or can be used for substitutions for things in the event that you are in a hurry. They are actually quite good. I like the chocolate ones the best.
So that is the kit. Basically it helped retrain me to eat healthy. After the initial 30 days last summer, I was ready to do it on my own. I still used the Invisifiber and the meal bars (for those days when I just didn’t have time for cooking a meal), but I did not use the rest of the supplements after that. I was still losing weight at a steady pace up until this spring.
The reason I stopped losing weight this spring was my own fault. I started having heart problems again, and I wasn’t exercising or eating like I should. So finally I decided to get back on the horse. I thought the best way was to follow the plan to the letter again just to get my going. After my first week, I am happy to report I have lost 4 pounds! Woohoo! The best part is that I am not starving myself. I feel full when I eat, and I love it.
My goal for right now is to lose about 25 pounds by Christmas and hopefully 20-30 more by next summer. However, I want to do this slowly, steadily, and in a healthy way. I have done so many bad diets that it is not even funny. I have also seen some of my friends go on various diets where they lose weight like crazy while they are on it and as soon as they go off of them, they gain it all back and then some. I just want to eat healthy, occasionally have a sweet treat, and feel good about myself.
So now that I have restarted my weight-loss journey, I am asking any of my readers who are on their own journey or have made their journey to share with everybody, and I will continue to keep you posted about mine!

Just happened to come across your blog…and I too have been on a weight loss journey. I gained approx 20 pounds in 3 years, I know YIKES! Well, when a friend gave me her “fat clothes” I hit rock bottom. I started to eat better (6 mini-meals a day) and exercise daily. I also kept a food chart, exercise chart at myfitnesspal (no I get nothing from them for sharing this site) but it works for me. I have lost 10 pounds and 7.5 inches! Good Luck with yours!!!

That is awesome Mandy! And thank you. I think we all have our moment where we hit bottom. Mine was some photos taken late spring and early summer of 2009. It helped get me started! Now I want to lose the rest of it, but I also want to just feel good about myself while doing it 🙂
