Sugar scrubs are not hard to make. You probably have everything you need to make one just laying around in your kitchen. They also make great gift ideas too for the holidays, birthdays, or whatever! So read on how to make one for you or someone you love!

Easy Homemade Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Olive Oil. I used extra virgin so my scrub is a little on the green side
1/2 cup sugar
4-5 drops essential oil (optional). I used Eucalyptus oil because it was handy, and I have a cold.

Directions:

Pour the sugar into a bowl, add the Olive Oil and mix. Then add the essential oil. It feels so good. Your hands and other dry parts will thank you!
While it doesn’t look pretty sitting in a bowl, add a baby food jar, a bit of fabric, and a ribbon…and you have a nice looking jar for you or a nice gift for someone you love!

Easy, Peasy, right?

See…I told you it was super simple! If you want, you can multiply the recipe for making lots of spa gifts for all your loved one. It keeps for a while when in a secure container.

I love making a homemade sugar scrub because I am so hard on my hands in the winter. I tend to overuse hand sanitizer, which I am working on changing. However, it is a slow change. I tend to get a little too disenfectant happy when it comes to germs in the winter, probably because of having a compromised immune system. I really hate being sick.

No matter what reason you make this homemade sugar scrub, you have a lot of possibilities with the recipes. You can make all sorts of different scents using your favorite essential oils. Plus, when you package it up, it really does make a nice gift. If you found this tutorial helpful, be sure to share it with your friends and be sure to subscribe to my blog at the top of the page!

    1. I haven’t tried Vanilla, but I tried Mint and Orange last month. However, I am tempted to find a chocolate mud mask now because it might make my next spa night delicious 🙂

  1. I can certainly relate to the winter blues. So tired of the snow, cold and blustery days. =) I never thought of trying a sugar scrub……very clever. Looking forward to getting to know you better through the SITS Tribe! Shaunna @Tempting Thyme
