My thoughts on the Recent Tragedy

Last night I wrote this on my Facebook wall and thought I would share it with all of you. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones in Connecticut and Oregon. There is so much wrong in the world in which we live. I want to believe that we can change it for the better.
I just wish that there was more compassion in the world. I wish that society was a little less “me” centered. I wish that people took mental health more seriously, and that help was more readily available. Sometimes, you need more than just a pill. I wish crazy people didn’t have access to guns. I wish those parents who lost their children didn’t have to suffer the way they do now, and I wish those children didn’t have to die. They shouldn’t have. The news this week has just been so awful. It makes me weep for all that is wrong in our world and makes me want to hold my babies tight in hopes that the future will not be so bleak.
This morning I saw this picture on Facebook, and I wanted to share it. While there is so much hurt right now, I thought this poster summed up how we can all help to make the world a better place. Each of us can do our part to be kind and fill each others lives with love.

Great thoughts! I wrote a bit about Connecticut, too: In the wake of this horror, everyone from atheists to pastors has asked “Where was God???” Here’s my attempt, however inadequate, to answer the question:
