For the past few years, I have spent a lot of time not feeling well and seeing a lot of doctors. I also had a baby, and for those of you who have been reading for a while, you know that my journey to having Crankles was a long and hard one. Add a move and the loss of my business, and well everything this blog had meant to me sort of changed.
I have been writing more frequently. I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I have a lot of posts that need updated, and I just haven’t had a lot of direction. Being sick, my strategy was writing as much as I could and do as much as I could before I tired out again. This was not exactly the best plan ever. For those of you who have stuck with me, I do appreciate it.
Since I have been feeling better consistently this summer, I have been spending time doing webinars, catching up on the blogging and social media scene, and pinning articles that seem useful in dusting myself off again so that I can bring the quality and consistent writing to this site again. After some thinking and planning, I finally have some direction, so here is what you can expect to see on a weekly basis:
My Weekly Usuals:
Mondays are for parenting. I home school three children, and it has its ups and downs. I want to share them. I also realize that there is not a lot out there on life with a teen, and I really want to share my ups and downs as it is really a whole new ballgame. Also, I have a tween and a preschooler. The combination is sometimes hilarious and also just downright hard. I have so many stories to tell, and I want to tell them all!
Wednesdays will be focused on field trips and family fun. We come across some very unique places in our home school journey, and I think they make fun field trips or day trips for families.
Weekends will be for tips, tricks, recipes, and product reviews. I love sharing about products, toys, and homeschool fun that we have found. I have some recipes I am working on, as I have a very restricted diet, so I want to share some of that with those of you that have food allergies. I also want to share party ideas again sometimes when I have a good one or a craft idea that works for us!
While I may not have new content for each subject every week, when I do, these are the days to check them. I am hoping as I continue to get better, I will be writing more and more.
I hope to bring life back to my blog, but I also want to be authentic while doing it. It is easy to get stuck in a rut. It is easy to write in a way that you think you are supposed to write because that is what is popular. I have been writing this blog for close to ten years. If I am going to keep doing this, I cannot do it based on what is popular…partly because I already covered it most likely. I want this to be a resource, and I want to be authentic in my writing because it is important to show realness…not just what is staged for social media.
I also have a different perspective on things based on my ongoing illnesses and how that has affected life, parenting, and social media. I am hoping that as I delve into writing, I can share some of that and resonate with my readers.
Thank you to everyone who has been reading with me all these years and to all of you who follow me on social media! You all are amazing, and I hope that you continue to follow stories about me and the kidlets as we move forward to the next chapter!
