Keeping up With Current Plus Size Sweater Trends

The Oversized Sweater

So this winter, we are seeing the oversized sweater look. I absolutely love this look because it is fun to do with leggings. Considering my body is still changing from just having a baby, I love anything that involves leggings right now.

The key to dressing this look up or down is using your accessories and footwear! Use sleek leatherlike knee high boots with leggings to create a more dressy look. Grab a pair of cute booties or Uggs to dress it down a bit. I tend to go with pearls for creating a classy look and then using my costume jewelry for making it more casual.

Style tip: You can never go wrong with pearls!

Bright and Bold Sweaters

I absolutely adore this bright and bold sweater trend!!! Over the last few years, I have been adding lots of color to my wardrobe. I saw some neon pinks making an appearance last winter and am loving that it is continuing into this winter! When it is snowing, and you got that big pop of color going on, it just looks so aesthetically cool (at least in my opinion)!

For my bright and bold look, I combined the oversized sweater trend with it. It looks great with leggings. However, it goes well with jeans as well! I like just a little bit of jewelry and would pair something like this with a black bag if I was going out. These days, I am pretty much house bound, but on the upside, these looks do brighten up my day.

I found my oversized sweater and my bright pink sweater online at Lane Bryant. My best shopping tip for Lane Bryant is to sign up for their emails and their rewards. They run $50 off $100 every once in a while, and it is easy to build up rewards. I always use coupons and sales to shop so that I don’t break the bank!

Finding Your Sweater Style

Even if these trends aren’t your thing, you can always just go with traditional looks and whatever works for you. I have an eclectic style. I have everything from fancy sweaters to my geeky ones with Star Wars, Jack Skellington, and Doctor Who all over them! Granted, I also have a pretty big collection!

You can never go wrong with a cute cardigan! Wear it with a tee or wear it with a cute blouse. When I was pregnant, I used them to stay warm and paired them with babydoll shirts.
