Don’t you hate when you want to do a birthday party theme but can’t find decorations to go with it? That is how it was when I did a LEGO party for the big kids a few years ago! So in the spirit of sharing, I want to share just how I created some fun and easy LEGO birthday party decorations! They are budget friendly too!
How to make LEGO birthday party decorations
Supplies Needed:
- Card Stock
- A round punch (can be found in the scrapbook section at your local craft store)
- Double Sided tape
- Ribbon
- Clothes Pins
- Balloons
- Colorful Paper Bags for making treat bags
Directions:
First you are going to want to use your round punch to cut your circles to make your LEGO bricks.
Next, You want to apply the circles to the Cardstock. I used two lines of four for the bricks on 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock.
Using the ribbon and clothespins, you can attach the paper LEGO to make your banner.
If you are doing the treat bags, they will look something like this after you cut the circles and stick them to the bags.
In addition to the LEGO Bricks, we also made balloon banners using the same colors we used for the bags and banners. We blew up the balloons and tied them with twine to make them look like this:
The kids really enjoyed the decorations, and their guests and parents got a kick out of the bags that we filled with pencils and mini-figures. Making the decorations helped keep the costs down, and they can be easily re-used.
