Our Review of some of Carole P. Roman’s Assorted Series

Children's books like those written by Carole P. Roman can be such a fun way to explore history, or culture or even practice reading. Here is our review of some of Carole P. Roman's assorted series that we were gifted for our library! Some of these books include the Captain No Beard Series and If you Were Me and Lived In... series.

For this review, we received three titles within The Captain No Beard Series. They were:

  • Captain No Beard: An Imaginary Tale of a Pirate’s Life Volume 1
  • Pepper Parrot’s Problem with Patience: A Captain No Beard Story Volume 2
  • Captain No Beard and the Aurora Borealis: A Captain No Beard Story Volume 7

We also received If You Were Me and Lived in…Poland!

First of all, I just want to say that Crankles now loves this author. She loves the stories and loves the artwork. Her favorite story from this selection is Captain No Beard and the Aurora Borealis: A Captain No Beard Story. Granted, I think she loves this story because she recently learned about Aurora Borealis and loves saying Aurora Borealis. She even drew her interpretation of it on the blank pages at the end of the book.

What we Loved about Captain No Beard

As I said earlier, Crankles loved the stories and artwork. I love that the Captain No Beard series has positive lessons for children in them and encourages them to use their imagination. I love books that teach valuable lessons!

What we Loved about If You Were Me and Lived in…Poland

This book was my personal favorite of the selections we received. My husband and I met in Poland. We both lived in Lublin, Poland for a bit and studied there. Also, my husband’s grandparents were Polish, so we really try to infuse Polish culture into our family. All of our children have Polish first names, keeping in tradition with my husband’s family. I loved that it covered day to day life, as well as places to visit in Poland.
