Some Food Allergy Substitute Ideas
As someone with dietary restrictions, I always appreciate finding ways to make recipes work for me. I have a gluten, dairy, and soy allergy, so these ideas will be based on those restrictions. If you don’t need these, feel free to scroll to the recipe. If you have any suggestions, be sure to let me know in the comments below!
Favorite Ice Cream Substitutes
If soy isn’t an issue for you, So Delicious makes a tasty (according to my kids) ice cream in quarts, which is great for making milkshakes. Oatly makes a great-tasting one as well. My favorite, if you can find it, is Fronen ice cream. This soy-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free ice cream uses honey as the sweetener. Since I don’t normally use regular sugar, this one is my go-to for frozen treats!
Whipped Cream options
Some grocery stores carry dairy-free whipped cream options. However, I found a great article that has ideas and recipes! Click here to check it out!
Oreo Cookie Options
Finding gluten-free and dairy-free Oreo substitutes can be found without too much trouble Finding them soy-free is a little more tricky, However, I found Simple Mills carries cocoa cashew creme cookie that I love. While it doesn’t taste quite the same, it’s absolutely delish. If you can’t find them at your grocer, Amazon carries them. Just click here for the link!
I hope you find these ideas helpful…now onto the Shamrock McFlurry Copycat recipe!
