My partner and I used to do dinner and a movie a lot for dates. However, with my long list of food allergies, my choices for going out for dinner are pretty limited now. In the spirit of creativity, I have been trying to come up with alternatives for dates for the fall, and I came up with this great list of 10 fall date ideas for any of you in a rut!
Falling In Love With Fall
I love fall. To see the leaves change colors is just beautiful. Fall fashion is my passion. I have a ton of hats and scarves that I can’t wait to dig out now that the weather is changing. Also, my partner proposed to me in the fall. He and I have always had some of our best times and getaways in the fall. Whether you love the outdoors or are content cozy indoors, there are lots of activities to do in the fall!
10 Fall Date Ideas
Here are 10 fun fall date ideas that we love and hope you will too!
1. Apple Picking
Yes, I know that you probably will end up paying way more for the apples from this excursion. However, it’s fun. Also, you can take the apples you pick and then plan to make dessert together later. One of my first dates with my partner involved cooking, and it is still one of my favorite memories!
2. Visiting a Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patches are super fun no matter what age you are! Many pumpkin patches offer hay rides, food, and activities. Some of them even have bonfires, which is a great way to get cozy with your date! This is definitely a great day date!
3. Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is a great date idea no matter what time of year it is. However, if you love being indoors, this one is definitely for you. You could choose to go to one or two wineries or find out more about wine trails in your area!
4. Go Check out the Foliage
All you need for this date is a car and maybe some good tunes. Go take a drive out in the country with your date and check out the beautiful hues on the trees. It is a great way to get to know one another if you are just starting to date. Also, if you have been together a while, it is a great way to catch up. Don’t forget to grab a blanket and something to nosh so you can stop somewhere for a picnic too!
5. Movie Night
With Halloween approaching, now is a great time to get out some scary movies, a cozy blanket, and your date. And if the movie gets boring…well, I am sure you can figure out something else to do (wink, wink).
6. Corn Maze
Okay, I know this one is a little corny (okay bad joke there). However, it is still fun to try to navigate your way through one of these some evening for fun. Also, feel free to let your inner child out and play hide and seek. This one is definitely one of my faves!
7. Haunted House
I must admit that my partner never wants to do this with me. However, I think it is tons of fun. For the most part, I think Haunted Houses are incredibly cheesy, but sometimes I still need someone to hold my hand!
8. Pumpkin Carving
Make it a game to see who can carve the coolest pumpkin. It might be messy, but you will have lots of fun being messy and just having fun!
9. Fall Hike
Hiking makes a great date no matter what time of year. Some of our best dates have included hiking in places we love…like the Great Smoky Mountains, Jim Thorpe, and some of our local parks. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water. Also dress in layers so that you can adjust as you go!
10. Have A Bonfire
Grab some marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers! Enjoy a night by the fire with your love, and snuggle close. You can even bring some blankets with you to do some stargazing later. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy each other’s company
