Recently, I got the opportunity to check out Sound for Life Ltd and try their new Soundsory multi-sensory program headset. To be honest, I haven’t been this excited about a product review in a long time. That is because this product it helps people like my youngest who has sensory processing issues. However, it also helps people like me, someone with an auditory processing disorder, and I really want to share about my experience with all of you! This can give help for better memory and better attention.
What is Soundsory?
Soundsory is a multi-sensory program that includes its program in its headphones. It consists of specifically designed music processed with neuro-acoustic modifications as well as a series of movement-based exercises and can be beneficial to people with:
- Motor Delays, balance, and coordination
- Autism Spectrum and Developmental Delays
- Sensory and Auditory Processing Disorders
- ADD and ADHD
- needing better memory and better attention
The program lasts for forty days and is comprised of two parts. The first part lasts 25 minutes, and the second part lasts 5 minutes. The first part is rhythmic music listening, and the second part uses movement with the exercises available on the Sound for Life Ltd website.
How It Works
This program works by having the music delivered through air and bone-conduction. This provides for a complete auditory stimulation. All of the body movement exercises require no additional props. The user can adapt them to their abilities.
The sessions should take place in a relaxed environment. Users are encouraged to be creative while listening to the music. However, the user should not use screens, drive or chew while the program is running.
My Experience with the Soundsory Multi-Sensory Program
I decided to try the Soundsory Multi-Sensory Program headset first. A few years ago after my TBI relapse, I received an auditory processing disorder diagnosis. My auditory processing disorder made it hard to blog. It was a reason why I all but stopped. While I had therapy for it, I still struggle from time to time.
The first thing I noticed was how relaxed I felt after listening to the program. Oftentimes, I sat and doodled or just moved about the room. I also noticed I could concentrate on things a bit longer after the first week. Since I have a lot to do being a homeschool mom, blogger, business owner, and social media manager, I need to have more concentration to get things done.
Overall, I like the program. I plan to use it with my little, and I hope for good results. After seeing me using the program, my older daughter asked to try it as well. Because he has concentration issues, it might help her have better memory retention too!
