All About Me First Day of School Printable

by

I must admit that the school year has already begun, and I am still in summer mode! Granted, we homeschool all year round. However, with Crankles entering Kindergarten this year, I wanted to do something for keepsake, like this fun “All about Me”  first day of school printable!

Late to the party

Every year, I intend to do things like this with the big kids, and every year I totally forget. Part of it involved being overly busy, and part of it was just being forgetful. I decided that since Miss Crankles is just starting school this year, I want to do those things that I never got to do with the big kids. Also, the big kids will no longer allow me to do these things. They say it is too embarrassing.

Granted, I know that I am still late to the game, but at least I can say I did it this year and make sure I save this first day of school printable for next year too! That is what I love about a printable “All About Me” keepsake, rather than a one use only style board. Also, I have aspirations of adding it to her scrapbook…eventually.

Why Making Keepsakes is Important to Me

While I didn’t make printable first day of school keepsakes for my big kids, I have a lot of other momentos to spark happy memories. I also go back through my Facebook memories and even old blog posts I have written from when they were small. For me, it isn’t always nostalgia, but it is a way to try to remember things that I can’t. As someone who suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury), I also suffered short term memory loss. I have big chunks of life that I just can’t recall. It is one reason I take so many pictures. I want to try to remember as much as I can, and for the things I can’t, I want ways to try to jog those memories.

Final Thoughts

If you missed doing something to mark your child’s first day of school, it’s not too late to get your own free “All about Me” First Day of School Printable! Also, doing stuff like this isn’t cheesy. Personally, I love seeing everyone’s first day of school pictures! It is always fun to see how much they have grown by the end of the year. Keepsakes are important, and don’t be afraid to create fun momentos to remember the small amount of time our children are little!
