One of the things I have discovered since moving back to Ohio is my love for Ohio Wines. This is why I am so excited to share about the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival with all of you!
(I have been gifted tickets for this event, but all opinions are my own)
A bit about the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival
The Vintage Ohio Wine Festival commences in the beginning of August at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark. It is two days of exploring wineries, enjoying food, and live entertainment! Plus, there are always a lot of fun vendors there too for shopping! All of the wineries are Ohio-based, and it is a fun way to get to try new wines.
This event is family-friendly. So if you can’t find a sitter, no problem!
Here are just some of the activities at the festival:
– Ohio Wineries
– Performing Arts
– Live Music
– Fine Regional Restaurants & Caterers
– Regional Artisans & Crafters
– Cooking Demonstrations
– Carry Out Store
– Designated Driver Program
– Children’s Entertainment
What I love it!
First, I love the location. It is a beautiful spot for a festival and just relaxing in general. Because there is so much space, if you or someone in your group has sensory issues, it is easy to find a place to decompress. While I don’t plan on taking children this year, this is important because I get overwhelmed at times and have anxiety.
The setup is fantastic. People are generally friendly. To visit and taste wines at the winery tents is pretty straightforward. They don’t sell wine at the tents. However, at the end of your day, there is a setup with each of the wineries where you can purchase your favorites! You receive a guide with each winery listed for tasting the wines. Be sure to mark your favorites at the time of tasting so you can remember them when purchasing later.
