Making themed sensory bins is a fun way to celebrate seasons, occasions, and holidays while making playtime even more fun! This Beetlejuice sensory bin makes a great Halloween activity for little kids that brings the creepy without being scary!

How to Make a Beetlejuice Sensory Bin
This sensory bin uses items you can find at your local Dollar Tree, making it super inexpensive.
Supplies:
- Black Beans
- Ping Pong Halloween eyeballs
- Black, white, orange and black striped pumpkins
- Green curly ribbon bow
- Purple foam balls
- One plastic bin (we always grab the plastic shoebox bins with lids for storage)

Directions
Add your supplies to the plastic bin and let your kids play! Put a lid on your sensory bin afterward to extend play for later

Add-ons for your Beetlejuice Sensory Bin
While kids will have fun playing with this sensory bin as is, here are some fun pieces to add if you wish:
- Plastic tweezers. They are great for grabbing and moving pieces
- Plastic tongs. You can find these at the Dollar Tree, and they work great with imaginative play.
- Little plastic gravestones or handmade ones using foam. Gives a fun, creepy vibe.

Why Sensory bins?
Sensory bins are a fun way to build fine motor skills, support emotional regulation, support sensory processing, and encourage hands-on learning. Using tweezers and tongs helps build hand muscles and hand-eye coordination. When kids use their hands to touch items in the bins, they explore with their senses, which can help them identify different textures. Also, the repetitive motions of scooping and sifting with their hands can help regulate their emotions and calm them.
I love using sensory bins with my kids. My youngest definitely uses his to help him regulate his emotions. He is Autistic and is currently going through occupational therapy. As he progresses in therapy, he uses tools more while playing, which is strengthening his ability to grasp small things. I am always so excited to see how much more he can do. Changing up the sensory bins gives him fresh ways to practice what he is learning!
