What Makes Animal Crossing so special?

If you don’t have the latest Animal Crossing installment, I highly recommend this game for your whole family! I have been waiting for an updated Animal Crossing game for some years now! I started playing the Animal Crossing game that came out for the Game Cube in 2003, and I have gotten every version since.

This game was my go-to for when I couldn’t socialize. When I got the Game Cube version, Bubby was a baby. We had just moved to a new city, and I knew no one. This game kept my mind occupied and helped me feel not quite so lonely.  When the DS version came out, my husband and I used it as a way to do something together when he was working out of state. It kept us connected.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out at a time of total chaos. With the pandemic, we couldn’t see our friends, and I still can’t see most of them. However, I connect with many of them through playing my game. We have two copies of the game in our household, one for me and my husband and one for the kids. We all play together and help build up each other’s towns. It kept our minds occupied this spring.

Since my kids can’t do much with friends, this has been one thing my older daughter could do with her friends too. She gets excited to have her friends visit her island. This is really the best social distancing game ever!

  1. This gane must have made a sheer fortune. Every kid up through early 20’s I know of has been addicted to it.

  2. I really like that you can connect with players near and far. I didn’t understand it until my one grandson told me that he was playing my other grandson where he was stationed in California. They were playing the game Fortnite. I heard of this animal crossing game before. Technology has really come a long way!! Thank you for sharing that adults like it too!

    1. It definitely has come a long way! I know a lot of adults that play, and it has really made it has made it easier for me to be able to find more to do to connect with some of my friends since Covid.

  3. This game looks really fun! I’ve heard great things about it. I have a couple of relatives who like to play.
