My daughter is always looking for ways to improve her drawing skills, so when we got the opportunity to review the Drawing Program from Creating a Masterpiece as our homeschool art curriculum, my daughter was super excited to get started right away! What is the Drawing Program from Creating a Masterpiece, you ask?
Master Artist, Sharon Hofer, designed this course to create 30 different drawing projects in 48 lessons. Throughout the course, students learn how to use colored pencils, charcoal, pencils and other tools. The lessons are self-paced, so you or your child can take as long as needed to complete the project. Also, these lessons have been designed so that even a 5-6 year old can complete this course. Your whole family could learn to draw!
Students will learn how to draw beautiful sceneries and animals. Each lesson provides a video tutorial and a list of supplies needed for each project. Students learn drawing concepts such as shading, two and three point perspective, and how to incorporate value. Sharon’s lessons provide a confidence building way for your family to learn how to draw and be proud of the pieces created!
My Daughter’s thoughts on the Drawing Program
My daughter loves to draw, so I thought this program would be perfect for her. She eagerly got started and has been so excited to show off her work. She says that she thinks Creating a Masterpiece is a good program. Because they split the lesson up into different sections, it makes it easier to learn how to do the project. She finds the lessons helpful and is really proud of the projects she completed so far. The lessons are really easy to follow. Overall, she thinks that it is a great start for anyone wanting to learn how to draw or get better at their skill!
My Thoughts on the Drawing Program
Having three kids at different ages and interests, I want to incorporate things they love into their homeschool day without getting stressed out over having to do all the teaching. This program is something my daughter can do on her own. The only thing she needed from me was making sure I got her all the supplies she needed.
My older daughter has a real passion for drawing, but I haven’t been able to find art classes or a homeschool art curriculum for her nearby that fit our schedule and budget. Because she can do this anytime she wants, that works for us in our busy schedule. Also, the price is very affordable. As this program develops further, I definitely see her wanting to stick with it. It has helped her build her confidence. I also see progress in her technique.
Seeing her happy and doing something she loves makes me happy. I am really glad that we got the opportunity to review this program as it is something I plan to keep and add to our homeschool curriculum list.

I always loved to draw as a kid. Took art classes for years and thought about becoming a fashion designer.
This looks like a great program for our family and I especially love that it is affordable.
