Fun with Food

If you want to skip ahead to the actual recipe, I am totally cool with that. However, I want to share a little about the fun we have had with waffle creations over the years. It all started with my Princess Leia Waffles for Star Wars Day some years back. My kids thought it was super cool. So when their birthdays rolled around that year, they requested me to make them again. Since then, I have come up with all sorts of fun ideas…like Captain America waffles, Fishy waffles, and even a Doctor Who Dalek waffle! They make birthdays or any occasion just a little more fun! So this year, I figured these Easter Bunny Waffles should be added to the list! So let’s get to the recipe!

Easter Bunny Waffles

waffles, candy eyes, bananas, strawberries, and pretzels

Ingredients:

2 Waffles

2 Strawberries

Banana

2 Candy Eyes

4 Pretzel Sticks

Directions:

1. Heat up the waffles according to the directions on the package.

2. Cut one of the waffles in half both vertically & horizontally.

3. Place the whole waffle in the center of a plate.

4. Place the two larger waffle halves on the top of the whole waffle to create bunny ears.

5. Take two candy eyes and place them on the whole waffle.

6. Slice up the banana and take two slices to create bunny cheeks.

7. Take a strawberry and cut the tip off of it.

8. Stick 4 pretzel sticks into the strawberry to create a bunny nose with whiskers.

9. Now take the remaining strawberry. Remove the leafy park and cut it in half.

10. Place the strawberry halves onto each bunny ear to create the pink part of the ear.
