Do you Need Structure to Your Homeschool Day?

I know not everyone needs the same kind of structure to their homeschool days. Some of us need a daily schedule with times for our kids to be doing certain things. Some thrive on a more laid back day. Sometimes it is best to start with a tighter schedule and relax it to fit your family’s needs.

For my family, we have a daily schedule to follow. I tried to relax it this spring, but ultimately our whole family just became way too chaotic. My oldest and youngest need a more rigid structure and have a hard time when we deviate from our schedule.  It took a lot of tweaking, but I think we finally have our groove back.

For us, a planner definitely helps plan our days. I actually have one for homeschool and then another one for work. While some people prefer to have theirs online, like the My School Year Homeschool Record Keeping one I reviewed last year, others need something physical. Regardless of which way works for you, organization definitely can help you get your homeschool year off to a great start, especially if you are just starting your homeschool journey!
