10 Ideas for a FREE Family Fun Night

We all enjoy a great Family Fun Night, but you might want something other than “family movie night” to keep the good times rolling! I’m including 10 great ideas for a FREE family fun night (or pretty close to it)!!
Jigsaw puzzles
Puzzles are a great way to get everyone involved in “working” toward a common goal, and by doing so, you’ll finish that beautiful puzzle in no time!
Audio books
You may already subscribe to Audible, or an app through your library. Snuggle up with some blankets, get out some doodling supplies, and listen to a family-friendly adventure story or mystery novel.
Bake cookies!
What’s your family’s favorite cookie? Gather your baking supplies (hopefully you have them on hand already) and don’t be afraid to make a mess in the kitchen! Kids love being in the kitchen with their parents! Consider making cut-out cookies to decorate!
Paint together
Pinterest is full of ideas for easy painting projects. Or go freestyle! Plan your own in-home “paint-and-drink-hot-cocoa” night!
Play a new board game or card game
This is the time to dust off that game that’s been on your shelf for ages and give it a try!
Classic “20 questions”
I can’t even count how many times I played this when I was growing up. This game doesn’t require any supplies, it’s fully portable, and every round is different and unique!
Camp-out in your yard or living room
Use whatever you have at home to build a tent or fort if you don’t have a real tent. Tell silly stories before bed and eat marshmallows, or roast some over a backyard campfire.
Hello, dance party!!
This is one of our family favorites! Select 3-4 songs to dance to or watch tutorials on fun dances to learn together! You can also bust out a copy of Just Dance as well! Many epic dance battles have happened in our house with this game!
Go on a night-time hike with flashlights and glow sticks!
Find a special place nearby to walk and stargaze! Listen carefully for any wildlife like owls who make lovely music at night!
Family Talent Show
Oh, the fun your kids will have with this idea! Let them plan and conduct a talent show all on their own! It’s sure to be a wild, free, and fun time!
