A different kind of Thanksgiving
People who know me know that my family and I aren’t really doing anything tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Our plans include watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and decorating for Christmas. However, don’t feel sorry for me, I am really ok with this.
You see we had our dinner on Sunday because my husband did not get to stay for Thanksgiving this year. It was lovely. He and I cooked together, and our family enjoyed our dinner and each other. It wasn’t on the actual day, but at least we got to do something.
At first, I was upset when I found out my husband wasn’t going to get to stay. I knew that eventually this could happen. We have just been lucky the past few years. I thought about going home to see my parents, but because of the shop, it made it a no go. However, now I just see it as an opportunity, an opportunity to spend a quiet day as a family. We can watch movies while we decorate and just have fun. Plus we will not be overstuffed and have a belly ache. Instead, we will feel fabulous because most likely we will play Just Dance at least once tomorrow.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. To those of you traveling, I wish you safe journeys and to those of you cooking, I hope you don’t burn anything!
