If you are raising a teenage daughter, then you probably already know how hard it is to navigate life with your child who used to adore you, but now would rather not be seen in public with you. I know I have struggled with this a lot lately. I know my kid has a lot of big things she is dealing with because being a teen is hard. However, I still want to make sure that I am there when she needs me. Recently, I was gifted a copy of “Love Her Well” by Kari Kampakis to review for all of you. This book helps us change the narrative of how our relationship changes as our daughters become tweens and teens.

About Love Her Well

Kari Kampakis shares 10 ways that moms can connect with our teenage daughters, such as how to be their emotional coach, how to help them navigate so they have a good support system, and how to listen and empathize with your teenage daughter.

This book has been very timely for me as I feel lost sometimes in trying to navigate being a mom of a teenage girl. I really thought I was prepared for all of this. I had several teenagers go through my house over the years as a host mom to exchange students. However, I still feel unprepared at times for dealing with teenage angst and emotions.

I love how Love Her Well addresses the way we relate to our daughters. Also, I love how it lays the foundation for relating to my teen. It gives tips on how to keep that communication open. It also gives you ways to talk about preparing your child for life.

Honestly, I wish I would have read this book before she turned 13. It is a great resource to have to prepare a mom for raising teenage daughters

Find out how Love Her Well can help change the narrative of how we deal with our relationships as we are raising teenage daughters.

  1. This sounds like a great book. My oldest granddaughter will be a teenager next year. My son needs to start getting ready.

  2. I wish this had been available when my daughter was a teen. We somehow made it through, but not without a lot of turmoil.
